How to Wear Victorian Dress

The Victorian era of British history was the period of Queen Victoria's reign from 20 June 1837 until her death on 22 January 1901. It was a long period of peace, prosperity, refined sensibilities and national self-confidence for Britain. During this era, the fashion of Victorian clothing have seen great changes.
In general, the clothing worn by those in the Victorian era was considered very elegant, very stylish, and very "covered". No skin showed, pretty much! Lots of layers, extremely full skirts, lots of ruffles and decorative features.
They wore bonnets, shawls, side button shoes, and as many as a dozen starched and flounced muslin petticoats to support the full skirts of her Victorian ball gowns. After that,to accommodate the growing wide skirts, ladies donned a wired cage or hoopskirt. They walked to swing their full skirt like a bell, with a gentle sway from side to side.
Here i will give you a specific explanation of how a woman of Victorian ear wear Victorian dresses with illustrations.
